It is Pumpkin Season!! There are so many ways to eat and drink pumpkins.  They can be incorporated into many different recipes.  We eat pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie (my favorite), pumpkin spiced lattes, roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin soup, well you get the picture!

Since there are so many delicious pumpkin recipes that we partake in during this season, it is refreshing to know the many health benefits of these round orange balls.  Aiding in eyesight, being heart healthy, and boosting your mood are just a few of the benefits.

One cup of mashed pumpkin contains more than 200 percent of your recommended daily intake of vitamin A which aids in vision.  Regularly consuming nuts and seeds, including pumpkin seeds, can lower your cholesterol because of the compound phytosterol.    Finally, pumpkin seeds contain serotonin that will improve our mood.

Sounds like a one for all to me!! I think I will go eat some pumpkin pie 😉
